Tim meets Charlie from Dunnett Bay Distillery to try out their award-winning vodka Holy Grass. Primarily known for their signature gin Rock Rose, Dunnet Bay have caused a stir in the vodka world by making a truly premium handcrafted vodka, winning the UK’s Best Flavoured Vodka at the World Vodka Awards 2021!
Found on the banks of Thurso River, Holy Grass gives this Vodka a wonderful, unique taste. Holy Grass (old name hierochloe borealis/ordorata new name Anthoxanthum nitens) was used for basket weaving and was used on church floors to give a sweet, vanilla smell when walked over.
Making the vodka in small batches using a traditional handmade copper head along with a botanical vapour basket allows tremendous care to be applied, and so the best results can be achieved.
